SADC Green Research Institute

Location: Chingola, Zambia

This was an academic proposal by one of the Vanguard Architects team members. Based on an aerodynamic principle of harnessing the wind for energy generation, this project was designed with the sole purpose of creating a facility that will be equipped to monitor and research into the factors that are contributing to environmental pollution and global warming within the SADC region. The underlying aim of the facility was the need to have information about the environment so that necessary steps to curtail global warming and environmental degradation are undertaken. This building has been designed to incorporate a number of green sustainable technologies. The accommodation of the building broadly comprised of an administration section, conference facilities, clinics, research, meteorological, and sterilization departments.
